We are now hiring people both of Thai and Japanese. As for the number of our workpermit, we can hire only few Japanese (we had to specify the nationality and numbers when we apply BOI).

We received some resume from Japanese people, some of them use the typical Japanese resume format like this.

I haven’t seen this kind of resume for long time, so i was little surprised that someone who is applying for Project Manager / Bridge SE position uses this kinf of format. This format doesn’t contain anything i want to know. It doesn’t tell anything about his/her skill. It might be still popular in Japan, not sure…

Some people try to make this format with MS word or Excell, try to follow the layout looks like this, but is there any reason that resume should be like this? I don’t use MS Word or Excel, so when i open the file with some other application, it’s always broken.

This kind of resume format is bit old style, i think. The size of paper is not A4, it’s B5. And it’s for paper based resume, if you send via email, it should be more browser friendly and print friendly format.

Of cource, people send us this kind of resume also attach another file something like skill sheet, but…. when i see someone try to follow this typical resume format with MS Word or Excel, i don’t really interested in that kind of person.

Now i know resume is very important.
